Pastor Brett began serving the United
Baptist Church of Scriba on September 27,
2002.
He has also been the senior pastor of the Pulaski
Baptist Church since May of 1998. Pastor Brett is also a Chaplin
in the US Army – the 413th QM BN Chaplin, Schenectady,
NY
He married the former Colleen Hickey on 26 April 1997 and they have a 3 ½ year old son-Justin, and a 20 month old son-Micah
He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford 27
April 1991 with a BS in Psychology. He graduated from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary 17 May 1996 with a Masters in Divinity. During his seminary training, he spent 3 years (93-96) at the Upland Baptist Church,
serving with Rev. Dale Miller. He was ordained as an American Baptist Minister 9 June 1996 at the Wellsboro First Baptist Church, PA. He graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital: Clinical Pastoral Education on 31 August 1997 – a one-year residency as a hospital chaplain.
He received his direct commission into
the United States Army 27 April 1999 as a 1LT in the Chaplain Corps. He graduated
from Chaplain Officer Basic Course 31 August 2000. While serving in Iraq
from May 03 – Feb 04 Chaplain Charsky served as the Battalion Chaplain to the 413th QM BN, which is the Logistic Headquarters
for these companies. He provided or performed religious support to 630 soldiers. The 1485th Transportation Company from OH, the 1011th Direct
Service Quartermaster Company from KS, the 1001st Quartermaster Company (FS) (DS) from OH, and the 608th
Ordinance Company from Germany
